Pastor Paul J Erdal has served in many different capacities in his twenty-nine years as a pastor, including serving as the assistant to the bishop for Northwestern Minnesota Synod, several larger congregations, as well as solo pastor in rural and small town.
I am excited to walk alongside you; to serve as your Pastor! I will draw upon my various experiences in very large congregations, to moderate sized, and even a small rural farming community. I thank God for placing me in my ministry settings. I also thank God for the faith and fruitful people in these ministries. They have helped me to know that God is always in charge of God’s Church!
Here is a little information about me. First, you may notice that I am Korean by birth. I am adopted. On August 30, 1973, I arrived to Norris and Alyce Erdal. To this day, I am grateful for Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota for bringing us together.
My ex-wife (Stacy) and daughters (Lily and Claire) had been following and supporting me for about 26 years. Stacy teaches elementary vocal music in the Brainerd, Minnesota school system. Lily is now 28 years old and in her 3rd year of residency in Blacksburg, Virgina in Internal Medicine. She intends on pursuing a Fellowship in Palliative Care and Gerontology. Claire is 18 years old and enjoys Saint Benedict’s College in St. Jospeh, MN. It is the sister school of St John’s College. She is gifted in so many ways, but thoroughly enjoys tennis and has made the roster on Saint Benedict’s Team.
I am delighted to be a partner in ministry with you. I will draw upon my knowledge and various experiences. We will be church together! And with Jesus Christ in the center, ahead, behind, left and right … we will be God’s people, doing God’s work together!
