Pastor Jackie, a proud Jackrabbit alum, hails from Brookings, South Dakota. Her journey at SDSU was not just about academics, but also about finding love. It was during her time as a student that she met her husband, Lyle. He is a dedicated researcher in the agricultural community, focusing on the development of animal vaccines. Together, they have built a loving family, with two adult children, two daughter-in-laws, and two dogs. Pastor Jackie’s dream is to add a house cat to their family someday.
Jackie, an intentional transitional (interim) minister in the SD Synod, has a deep passion for coaching and leadership. Ordained in 2012, she began her coaching journey in 2018, finding it to be a fantastic way to promote autonomy, self-awareness, accountability, and independence. Her dedication is further highlighted by her certification as an ELCA level two coach in mission development and her ongoing pursuit of professional certification as a coach. She is interested in working with individuals and teams in leadership, strategic planning, and mission development. Her joy comes from challenging the status quo and sparking ‘light bulb moments’ through intentional listening and powerful questions. In her free time, she indulges in her love for genealogy, reading, shopping, and traveling.
